Fleas, OH what a nuisance!

It is inevitable that your dog will at some point have fleas. Luckily there are many good products that you can use out there to control them.

How to get rid of them

1.   Flea and Tick Shampoo - If it is a puppy or a adult dog you can use regular baby shampoo, be generous with the shampoo. Leave it on and wrap the puppy in a towel for at least 15 minutes and then rinse well can use Dawn dish liquid it works good also.
2.   Then there is Frontline^tm and Advantage^tm that you can put on your pet every month.
3.  Herbal Remedies such as an herbal flea collar.
4. In your home you need to sprinkle a mixture of Borax and salt onto your carpets leave sit and them vaccum your floors this will take care of a large portion of them. **REMEMBER if you use a vaccum with bags to get rid of it immediately afterwards!** Clean all your beddings and pets too.
5.  For your home you must use a flea spray containing IGR. IGR is short for Insect Growth Regulator. Check the label for this ingredient.
6. You may need to go through this several times to kill the cycle of flea life egg, larva, pupa, and adult.
